Why Use a CSV Template for Bulk Uploads?
Pinterest's Bulk Editor can process 100–200 Pins per upload, shaving 80% off your scheduling time. A template enforces perfect column mapping — board names, titles, descriptions, and publish dates — so every Pin lands exactly where it should.
CSV Columns Explained
- board_name - The exact public name of the board (e.g., "Healthy Meal Prep").
- title - Up to 100 characters; front-load your keywords in the first 40.
- description - Up to 500 characters.
- link - The URL you're driving traffic to (include UTM params).
- image_url - A publicly accessible JPG or PNG URL (no logins required).
- publish_date - Format as
YYYY-MM-DD HH:MMin your local time zone.
Uploading to Pinterest
- In your Pinterest Ads Manager, go to Ads → Bulk Editor.
- Click Upload, select your exported CSV, and hit Review.
- Resolve any validation errors highlighted by Pinterest.
- Click Process. Pinterest will queue the file and email you when it's done.
Common CSV Errors
- Validation error: Usually a required column is blank, or the header row was deleted.
- Image download failed: The image URL must end in .jpg or .png and be publicly accessible.
- Date format error: Ensure you use military time and do not include seconds (YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM).
